Sleeping is very important for general health and we sleep about 25 years in our life or seven to nine hours a night. Right sleeping position will improve the overall health and solve some health problems like:
Women’s Health Magazine recommends sleeping on the side, legs bent slightly and a pillows(one between the knees and another grasp to the chest).
Sleeping position for back pain is very important. You need to sleep in a posture that is best for you. WebMD advices that you need to lay on the back and place pillow under the knees. Also to place a towel (rolled up) under the back’s curve.
Since we now that some headaches are a result of twisted neck while sleeping you should surround the head with pillows to prevent it from turning.
Harvard Medical School recommends sleeping with elevated head in order to prevent the mucus from pooling in the sinuses.
*High blood pressure*
Sleeping faced down can lower the blood pressure significantly.If not consult your doctor .
According to Women’s Health Magazine sleeping with a pillow under the knees can prevent arching of the spine and the PMS pain.
PainPhysicians recommends taking a towel (rolled up) and putting it under the neck or under the pillowcase .
It is recommended to sleep on the left side for improved digestion. This is because the stomach is on the left side in our bodies. In that way it enables gravity to improve the digestion.
Heartburn are treated by sleeping on the left side.
